All properties marketed for sale or let in England & Wales are required by law to hold a valid Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). These are valid for a period of 10 years. 

 

If you have owned your property for less than 10 years, or the property has been marketed within that period, it may be that an EPC is already valid on your property. You can check whether you have an EPC in place by using this link. If a valid EPC appears on the register, you do not need to order a new one.

Please be aware that EPCs are a legal requirement, and we are unable to put your property onto the market without having either a valid EPC or having your EPC ordered. Your solicitor will also not be able to complete your sale without one, so we would ask that you please complete this as soon as possible.
